Four states surround Lake Michigan:  Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. The tour for this book
          starts in Waukegan, Illinois then heads south to Indiana, proceeds along the western shore of
          Michigan following the southern shore of the Upper Michigan (UP). Next the tour starts in Green Bay
          and on to Door County. Finally, inishes along the eastern shoreline of Wisconsin to the Illinois
          border.  The Appendage shows some lesser known lighthouses in Wisconsin and Illinois.


          ILLINOIS



          There are only 4 lighthouses in Illinois that are accessible or viewable by land.

          Waukegan Harbor Lighthouse – Built* 1889
          Grosse Point lighthouse *1873
          Chicago Harbor Lighthouse * 1838

          Chicago Harbor SE Guidewall * 1938

          Wilson Avenue Crib *1918, (Accessible only by boat)
          4 Mile Crib *1891, (Accessible only by boat)
          William E. Dever Crib *1935, (Accessible only by boat, but shot with a long telephoto lens)

          68th Street Crib - Dunne Crib *1892, (Accessible only by boat)

          Note: Calumet Harbor is in Illinois, but its breakwaters extend across the state line into Indiana
          waters.
