The square on square house, topped by round lantern, sits on the tip of the northern swoop of the
four-mile breakwater that protects Milwaukee’s harbor. The lighthouse is constructed of steel plate,
steel frame with its cast iron lantern mounted on a concrete foundation. It was built in 1926 and stand
53 feet tall.
